This plant is a member of a legume family and has been used for centuries for digestive problems, skin injuries, sore throats, fever, muscle aches, and impotence.
Fenugreek is a legume not a grain, so as with other legumes, it contains a high vegetable and protein content. It is high in vitamin B and phosphorus compounds which make it beneficial for nervous complaints.
Some recent studies suggest that fenugreek also has a mild anti-inflammatory effect as well as beneficial for the liver.
