Botanical Name – (Melaleuca cajuputi)
Part of plant used – Leaf and twig
Cajuput oil has been used for centuries as a remedy for rheumatism and cholera and has other antiseptic uses. It is a top not and vaporizes quickly.
Physical Applications
- Temporary relief from rheumatic pain, muscle stiffness and tired aching limbs – massage, bath and warm compress
- Inhibits bacteria therefore good for colds, sinus, bronchial cough and respiratory infections –vaporizer, gargle (do not swallow any of gargle and use only one drop of essential oil to half glass water) and massage
Cautions
- Do not take internally – if swallowed seek medical attention immediately and DO NOT INDUCE vomiting. Give a glass of water.
- Do not use on children
