Plantain
(Plantago major)
Description…
Plantain is a weed which usually shows itself as an irritating addition to people’s nicely manicured lawns. However, this plant is useful to the herbalist as it can aid in the treatment of diarrhoea and haemorrhoids.
Plantain also helps rid the body of excess mucus and soothes inflamed and sore membranes, making it useful for treating coughs and mild bronchitis. It can also be used for treating wounds.
